About the Role

This role will have you providing coaching and support to leaders across our business, enabling them to be effective Safety Leaders, who actively promote a health, safety and wellbeing culture across Cancer Council SA. You will assist with the maintenance and development of our Safety Management Systems to ensure it supports the organisation’s requirements, legislative compliance and best practice standards. This role also provides a range of specialist advice and support to all of our team and volunteers in relation to, health, safety and wellbeing.

About You

Ideally you will have Tertiary qualifications in Safety/HSE and/or a related field. Knowledge of the current Work, Health & Safety and Return to Work legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice with experience in claims/injury management is required. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, combined with a collaborative approach are important for this role as you will provide coaching, training and support to all employees.

The role is backfilling parental leave and is being offered as a 12-month fixed term, part-time opportunity. We can offer 0.6FTE up to 0.8FTE with flexibility in times and days to be worked.

Special conditions

  • The successful applicant must be a non-smoker.
  • Appointment will be subject to satisfactory police check and may require a further Department of Human Services clearance.
